  1. Chocolate
    It’s toxic to both dogs and cats. Cooking chocolate is the worst due to its high cocoa content, but none of it is good. 
  2. Onions and Garlic
    Onions and garlic both contain thiosulphate, which is toxic for both dogs and cats.
  3. Salami or Cabanossi
    Both these processed meats are high in fat content, which leads to pancreatitis in dogs. 
  4. Fast food
    Fatty fast food can inflame the pancreas too. 
  5. Caffeine 
    Coffee is a bad idea. It can damage the heart, lungs, kidneys and central nervous system of both cats and dogs.
  6. Paracetamol
    If you catch your cat licking the medicine cup with leftover kids Panadol in it, call the vet right away. Your dog can tolerate it but it’s really bad for cats.
  7. Avocado
    Avocado can cause fluid accumulation in dogs’ lungs as it contains persin, a fungicidal toxin.
  8. Chewing gum (Xylitol)
    An artificial sweetener found in sugar-free chewing gum, it can lead to dangerously low blood sugar in dogs along with liver damage.
  9. Macadamia nuts 
    These can cause muscle tremors and paralysis.
  10. Alcohol 
    This should never be given to your pet. It can make them seriously ill.
